Stretching a Quilt

It has taken me over a month to find all the pieces necessary to finish this quilt. I needed about 150 safety pins, a handful of C-clamps, a quilt back, and some straight strips of lumber about 8ft long. After I gathered this all up, I then had to straighten up the house, move furniture and clean the floor, just to get ready. I then needed to wait for a time where I had the better part of an afternoon undisturbed.

Caveboy reads BBC Food Magazine

"Boy, Mom, the Brits sure don't like the Scandinavians. This recipe calls for one large Swede peeled and cut into large chunks."

Plums

These were at the market today and I couldn't resist. We are having dessert for a second time this month.

Here they are stoned and sliced in a deep casserol dish.

The ingredients for the crumble topping are 1/2 cup rolled oats, 3/4 cup brown sugsar, 1/2 cup flour, 4oz. butter, 1/4 tsp. nutmeg, 1 tsp. cinnamon. Blend these with your fingers. Dump the crumble mixture on top of the plums and bake off in a 350degree oven until the plums are soft and bubbly.

Linen Blouse

Here's my interpretation of Folkwear #210, The Armistice Blouse. I eliminated most of the lace, all of the embroidery work. The underblouse or cami is widened a bit and a false facing conceales all the buttons on the front of the blouse, giving a much smoother appearance. I also eliminated the tie belt and opted for a small gathering detail (not shown) in the back instead.

I wish I could get it pressed better than this... maybe some spray starch will help.
